TERMS OF HIRE

CAMPING EQUIPMENT

SECURITY DEPOSIT

We require a security deposit for all Camping equipment Hire prior to receiving your equipment - which is wholly refundable if the equipment is returned on-time undamaged, clean and complete with all supplied equipment. Return of security deposit will occur after inspection of equipment. 

DROP OFF POINTS

All hire is quoted on a collection from base basis. Delivery and collection at accommodation sites within Cairns City local area will be negotiated when quoted. An extra fee may be charged. 

CLEANING

All camping equipment is supplied in a clean and presentable condition. Upon its return, any excessive soiling will incur a $20 cleaning charge. Smoking in and near camping tents is prohibited and a tent replacement charge will also be applied if found to have cigarette ash within the equipment. 

FAIR WEAR & TEAR

Your equipment is supplied in a reliable and good condition. For your protection, any minor defects will be noted at the time of hire upon the hire contract. We operate under a Fair Wear and Tear policy towards the ongoing use and conditions of our equipment. 

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

Any damage is chargeable to the hirer – this or any repair or replacement cost(s) will be charged to your Credit Card or deducted from the security deposit as held during the hire term.

VEHICLE HIRE

INSURANCE

All Hire rates include comprehensive insurance coverage (Insurance excess applies).

Hire rates include comprehensive insurance cover for drivers over 21 years. However there is a non-waivable excess of $3000 for 4WD's for each and every incident. Due to the nature of our sector of the Hire industry - Our insurers do not offer “Daily Excess Reduction Rates”

Learner or Probationary Drivers are not permitted to drive our vehicles.

Roof, under body and interior damage is not covered by insurance nor is damage caused by water to either the engine or vehicles interior. Insurance does not cover salvage or recovery costs related to any accidents. It is the hirers' responsibility to return the vehicle to the place of hire. 

Aussie 4WD and Camping Hire permits its vehicles only to be used on Highways, designated Roads and Tracks that are clearly shown on any Hema brand Map or travel guide if driven off road elsewhere, all insurance cover is void in such cases. 

The hirer should ensure they do not undertake terrain beyond both the vehicle and drivers’ capabilities. There are some tracks prohibited in the Cape York region. See Full Terms and Conditions for details.

INSURANCE EXCESS OF $3000 APPLIES FOR 4WD's Multi Vehicle accident up to $3000 Damage (Not at Fault incident).

INSURANCE EXCESS OF $3000 APPLIES FOR 4WD's Single Vehicle accident per vehicle - per incident. 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

We require a security deposit for all vehicle Hire's prior to receiving your vehicle - which is wholly refundable if the vehicle is returned on-time to the nominated drop-off point undamaged, clean and complete with all supplied equipment and a full tank of fuel. 

PAYMENT

Payment may be in cash but prefer Credit Cards or Debit Cards for Security Deposit. Tolls and Traffic/Parking fines incur a $25.00 administration fee. 

LICENCES

We accept all current Australian and International (Photo Identification style) licences (applicable to vehicle rating) for drivers 23 years plus, with a minimum 2-years licensed driving experience. The international licence must be accepted in Australia. Learner or Probationary Drivers are not permitted to drive our vehicles. 

DROP OFF POINTS

Rates shown are for hires finishing at originating hiring point. If it is necessary the vehicle may be left in another drop off point by arrangement, however, a repositioning fee (varies according to drop-off point) will be charged in advance for this service. 

EARLY RETURNS

Where a vehicle has been hired for a specified hire term and it is returned earlier to which it was hired unless for exchange, replacement or maintenance by the company and no replacement vehicle is required - the full hire will be charged. 

FUEL

Upon collection/delivery, your vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel and on your return the cost of any refilling will be applied, plus a handling fee. 

CLEANING

Your vehicle is supplied in a clean and presentable condition, upon its return any excessive soiling will incur a $110 cleaning charge. In Australia, smoking in Hire vehicles is prohibited by law - a $110.00 cleaning charge will also be applied if found to have cigarette ash within/over vehicle. 

FAIR WEAR & TEAR

We operate under a Fair Wear and Tear policy towards the ongoing use and conditions of our vehicles. 

VEHICLE DAMAGE

Any damage on the vehicle upon its return not noted on the Hire contract at commencement of hire is chargeable to the hirer, unless as defined within the industry as Fair Wear and Tear – this or any repair or replacement cost(s). 

USAGE

Our fleet are fitted with roof racks or trays; however all overhead loads are limited to 150kg by Federal road laws. All our vehicles are fitted with tow bars, allowing you to tow a trailer. Please note; you are not permitted to tow any trailer that exceeds either a vehicle’s towing or carrying capacity. This breach will forfeit the security deposit held – Vehicle telemetry and GPS systems may be in place to monitor usage.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that they are in compliance with all Road, Traffic, Council bylaws, Toll, Speed and Parking regulations and our full terms of hire whilst in charge/hire of the vehicle.
